 RUN

Bill and Kristina Craig, founders of Medal Chasers, have been on our show before.  We are big fans of running their virtual races as training runs to stay motivated during training season and support a great cause.  The “I’m With You ’Til The End of the Line” 5K, celebrating Winter Soldier, is from the Medal Chasers Anti-Hero series.  We wanted to have a themed short run as a final one ahead of our trip to Shamrock Marathon Weekend to run the 8K there and meet up with fellow podcasters and other members of the Runcation Nation.  We were so excited to do this race to support Shriners Hospital for Children.  As always, the bling did not disappoint.  Right now, there are some fun virtual races offered on their connected to Star Wars, Marvel, and more!

 EAT

This week, we were in the mood for comfort food while at the same time wanting to stay true to our plant-based plan.  So, we used two of our favorite products to create a version of linguine bolognese.  The first comes from Banza, which is a chickpea pasta.  The second is Impossible, but it is not the plant-based burgers they are known for but the meat crumbles that combine with our favorite marinara to create a fantastic sauce.  Use your favorite marinara or make your own, and presto!  We even used our beverage in the recipe (link is also below).    Here are our Amazon Affiliate links to the products.  (Clicking them gives you access on Amazon, costs nothing extra, and if you order from them, you help support our podcast.):

Impossible Linguine:  https://amzn.to/3hSsOJ4

Fre Merlot:  https://amzn.to/3MB2h12

We even topped it with a “parmesan” sprinkle that tasted amazing, thanks to a recipe from Cookie and Kate.

We have shared the recipe over on www.patreon.com/runeatdrinkpodcast.  So, if you’d like to recreate a fantastic carb-loading plant-based meal that you’d mistake for having real meat, check it out there!

DRINK

We share a non-alcoholic version of a cocktail we love this week, the Old Fashioned.  We got the recipe from www.frewines.com.  Who knew we could have a great-tasting wine that is non-alcoholic!?  And they make all kinds: red, white, blush, and bubbly, too!  We promised that this year we’d get more into wine.  And, we will get into the alcoholic kind after our challenge is over!  In the meantime, we share this recipe and our live review with you.  Of course, you can create a classic Old Fashioned with one of our favorite liquors, bourbon.  You can check out previous episodes where we sampled some great ones during our recent “runcations.”

THAT’S A WRAP!

Thank you for listening!  We are looking forward to YEAR NUMBER 5 of the podcast because of your support!  Don’t forget to follow us and tell us where to find you next on our websiteFacebookInstagram, and Twitter.  Also, check out our store on the website and get some swag, thanks to Pure Creative Apparel.  Thanks to PodcastMusic.com for providing the music for this episode, too!
