RED Episode #68: Training through Injury & Flashback to Below the Radar in Huntsville
RUN
In this episode, we talk about training challenges and how to overcome them. Then we ask for your feedback and how you overcome training challenges because in this training week, Dana is coming back from injury and starting back to training slowly. At the same time, Aimee had a long run distance of 14 miles in the heat and humidity of the Florida summer, which presents its own challenges that we all encounter and need to overcome at some point in a training cycle.
EAT
My cameraman had a work trip to Huntsville a couple of weeks ago. We spent some time around some amazing exhibits at the US Space and Rocket Center. We stayed near the Von Braun Center and Big Spring International Park, which was a great park to run in right outside our hotel.
Huntsville has their own Craft Beer Trail that incorporates the fantastic breweries and tap houses we had the opportunity to visit.
We flash back to our visit to Below the Radar Brewhouse, where we had some tasty brews and some out of this world Fish and Chips for lunch when we visited the Brewhouse. I actually thought the fish and chips were the stars of our visit. Flaky white fish perfectly cooked and battered in beer batter that was crunchy, a little salty, and perfect with a hit of malt vinegar. It is on the heavier side as an entree, so we would recommend it as a dinner item or to split it if you are having it for lunch, but it is delicious no matter what the time of day.
DRINK
We had a flight of six original beers while we had the meal and actually saw the brewing process in action while we ate.
The beers I had were:
Imperial Brown (Brown Ale) 8% ABV
Baltic Porter By Robo, Andrew, Alex, and Clint 7.6% ABV
Mild Thang (English Mild Ale) 3.5% ABV
Strange Wilderness (American Imperial Stout) 9.2% ABV
Voodoo Mary Belgian Dubbel 8% ABV
Mossy Oats Stout (Oatmeal Stout) 7% ABV
THAT’S A WRAP
