RUN
This is the first in a series of 3 summer 5Ks in our runDisney Virtual Race Series. This first medal is in honor of Captain Marvel! We have chosen to run it in our favorite places around Walt Disney World: Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and the Boardwalk.
EAT
Boardwalk Bakery was a great way to get some coffee and a bite to eat before starting our 5K. Their hot breakfast sandwiches and tasty coffee were just the right fuel to get our inner super heroes ready for our race. The Butter Butter and Ooey Gooey Breakfast Sandwiches were so good!
While we were at Disney, we went to Sanaa Lounge in the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a bite after completing our 5K. There we had the Indian-Style Bread Service and it was amazing! We got all five breads: Traditional Naan, Garlic-Ginger Naan, Spiced Naan, Onion Kulcha, or Paneer Paratha. And of course we got all nine sauces: Cucumber Raita, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Mango Chutney, Tomato-Date Jam, Tamarind Chutney, Coriander Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Red Chile Sambal, and Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle. Plus a super spicy bonus one that Joe, our bartender brought us when he heard we like spicy sauces. Awesome!
DRINK
Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land has a Grown Up’s Lemonade with Vodka, Lemonade, and Black Cherry Purée! Refreshing! But also, if it is too early, there are nonalcoholic options like Cold Brew Joffrey’s Coffee.
At Sanaa Lounge we had the Safari Amber Ale and Tusker Premium Lager imported from Kenya. Both beers were refreshing. The Safari Amber Ale was a red ale with a malty character and no bitterness. The Tusker Premium Lager was a light yellow and super refreshing citrus flavor. Both were nice choices on a hot day!
