RED Episode #63: Travel Tips and Pints & Pixels from Huntsville
RUN
My cameraman had a work trip to Huntsville this week. We spent some time around some amazing exhibits at the US Space and Rocket Center. We stayed near the Von Braun Center and
Big Spring International Park, which was a great park to run in right outside our hotel. When we travel for work or during a training week, it is important to take all the necessary running gear. This week we talk about what is essential to take with you when traveling to stay on track when you training for a big race.
Here are links to some of the gear we talked about in the show this week:
Away Travel Luggage and Packing Cubes
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU, TOO! If you have a tip for us to share on our next episode about running while traveling or the gear you normally travel with that makes it easier, email us at info@runeatdrink.net or call and leave us a message at 941- 677-2733.
EAT
Who knew that Huntsville had so many great places to eat! We continue our look at nostalgic places in Huntsville with Pints and Pixels. This place was a throwback to the 1980s, and we loved its theme so much because it took us back to when we were kids because both of us loved pinball and video arcades! But, their kitchen, owned by Anaheim Chili, nails some pretty incredible and spicy food. From appetizers like Chicharrones with Pimento Cheese, Texas Spring Rolls, and Adobo Skirt Steak Skewers to bowls of Pesole and Home-Style Chili plus so many others we did not try. This place knows how to spice things up!
DRINK
Pints and Pixels also had awesome local brews on tap, as well as top shelf liquor, but what we had to try was their inventive cocktails. Why? They are inspired by and named after some of our favorite video games that we played while growing up. Ms. Pac-Man Power Pellet was my favorite! But they also had a Gin and Sonic, The Frogger, Princess Peach Cosmo, Mario’s Power Up, and Luigi’s Liquid Green. Such a creative menu!
